Train Track Trail Run: Broomfield

This is without a doubt, the most frequent trail run I do on a regular basis. It’s a loop (which I LOVE) close to where I live, and at 4.26 miles is the perfect distance to complete during a lunch break.

It also has stunning prairie and mountain views, as well as a good mixture of challenging hills and flat recovery roads.

This run is definitely a hidden gem, and frequented almost exclusively by people who live close by in the area. If you’re interested in trying it out — you can start at Del Corso Park in Broomfield and run the following route:

I never claimed to be a fast runner

Some views you’ll see along the way:

A lot of beautiful open praries. Watch out for and respect the prairie dogs! You might even catch a glimpse of the bald eagles that live nearby.
You’ll see the Broomfield train tracks and cross them four times during this run (why I cleverly named this route Train Track Trail)
There are a lot of other beautiful routes to take in this area if you’re feeling adventurous.
This run is part of the bigger network of trails, and you’ll meet up with Lake Link Trail along the way.

Happy running!
